Pleased to meet you...
Just who is this guy?
Antonio hates writing these things... like, really hates writing them.
In fact, he's writing this one in third person, so you'll think someone else is writing.
Not fooled, eh?
Primarily self-taught, Antonio Malcolm is a web designer, programmer and graphic artist. He hopes that admitting so will begin his twelve-step process toward recovery, whatever that means.
He began his path in engineering like many others, picking apart and reverse-engineering code, bicycle drivetrain, radios, motor engines, and people, just to see what makes them tick.
He works primarily with Java, XML, XHTML, CSS, and javascript, though he also uses PERL on occasion.
When he's not guzzling copious amounts of coffee, engaged in some part of the creative process, Antonio enjoys running, triathlons, progressive rock, reading, and evenings spent with friends in the better bars and coffee shops around San Francisco. He has also worked as a network architect and engineer and is currently collaborating with an author on a series of graphic novels.
About the website...
With a design constructed from hand-rendered images and coded in clean, valid XHTML and CSS, this website is built on a content management system I've designed and built over the past year, called Mocha.
MochaCMS is a J2EE web application built on MVC architecture; built and deployed using Apache ANT, rsync and ssh, and runs on the Tomcat Application Server. Content is stored and served fresh daily by the MySQL RDBMS.
MochaCMS was developed in Mac OS X using a text editor and a BASH terminal, and this site is hosted on Debian Linux, served and load balanced using Tomcat with an Apache HTTP front, via mod_jk.
